Mary Baker-Sinclair, M.S.W., Ph.D.

Dr. Baker-Sinclair is a partner and co-owner of Chapel Hill Pediatric Psychology. She has been practicing in the field of pediatric psychology since 1989. Having received her B.S. in psychology from Duke University, in Durham, N.C., her M.S.W. in child and adolescent development (with a family therapy specialization) from Washington University in St. Louis, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr. Baker-Sinclair has learned the importance of utilizing a multi-modal approach to treating families.

She believes that understanding children and adolescents within the context of their complete environmental structure (i.e., school, home,) is the most effective way to promote healthy psychological development. As such, she not only interacts with the client individually, but regularly partners with other sources, including parents, siblings, and where appropriate, schools, to obtain pertinent information about her clients.

Areas of expertise include assessing and treating childhood issues, with emphasis on ADHD, adoption, anxiety, bullying, dating violence, divorce, depression, and noncompliance.
